We caught up with Ryan Baldwin after our Derby Day triumph over the Griff on Saturday afternoon:

‘A good win on derby day against a resilient Griff side. We knew our
opposition would be fired up, so we were well aware we had to get
out of the blocks quickly and match both their energy and work rate.
The grit and determination of our lads consequently shown on the day
was second to none.

After a good few opportunities in the first 20 mins, we finally
broke the deadlock after some fantastic build up play.
The ball eventually found Alfie Smith in space, who found
the side netting with the outside of his foot, and was the
cherry on top of a man of the match display.

In the second half, Griff grew into the game, but on trend
with recent games, we defended impeccably as a unit. We
pressed with intent from the front, recovered well out of
possession and the back four with Olly put their bodies on the
line; all combined contributed to a well deserved clean sheet.

That’s now 7 points out of 9, and we look forward to another
home tie this Saturday vs Bridgnorth where we hope to see the fantastic turnout we did last Saturday in the stands. UTC!’
